Iowa, nicknamed The Hawkeye State, is located in the Midwestern US and it is an amazing place to live, and to visit. Some people spend their entire lives here and still haven’t seen some of the natural beauty that this state has to offer!
One of Iowa’s “Watchable Wildlife Areas,” it features the E.B Lyon’s Interpretive Center which serves as the Visitor Center and Park Office. The 1432 acres which make up the Mines of Spain State Recreation include a variety of land forms, plant species, animals and water types. Parts are rugged, wooded Mississippi River Bluff-land. It’s also open YEAR round which makes it the perfect place to visit when in Iowa.
