Formed 80 Million years ago by the ocean that was here in this part of the US. Crazy to think right? You would never believe that the state that people dread to drive through has such an incredible sight to be discovered. If you DO find yourself driving down 1-70, you may be thinking when will this end, maybe it’s time for a detour to see the Monument Rocks. Quite bizarre to see the chalk pillars after driving through what seems like hours of grass. Although on private lands, this location is open to the public so please be respectful of the property. We hope this will change your mind on Kansas and perhaps even want to plan a trip there!
