Connecticut - Mystic, CT & Case Mountain
If you love boats and ships this is the place to go. If the town called Mystic doesn’t peak your curiosity then we don’t know what to tell you. Here in this port town you will find the Nation’s leading Maritime museum. Founded in 1929, the museum is home to four National Historic Landmark vessels, including the Charles W. Morgan, America’s oldest commercial ship and the last wooden whale ship in the world! The Museum’s grounds cover 19 acres on the Mystic River. Explore outside the museum and find a recreated 19th century coastal village, a working shipyard and more! Go to the boathouse and rent a rowboat or a sailboat and cruise around the harbor. How many museums actually let you play with their toys?! Our sea loving hearts are ready to sail away to Connecticut this week. @mysticseaportmuseum
Case Mountain offers a wide variety of photo ops. From the beautiful stone archway to the summit which gives hikers a view of downtown Hartford. Being 744 ft tall, you can imagine all the sights you’re able to see! Being that it is flat & spacious, it is very easy to hike, run, or bike! Follow the trail long enough, & you’re able to see and even make a splash in a beautiful waterfall. Planned hikes ARE available upon request for those that aren’t quite comfortable venturing out on their own!
